Brickhouse version 0.6.0 released !!!

We are proud to announce the 0.6.0 release of Brickhouse. It is available for download via the sonatype maven repositories, or as a pre-built bundle on the Downloads page.

This release is mostly a bug-fix release, with some fixes to JSON and HBase UDF’s, and the ability to specify sketch set size for the KMV sketch set UDFs. We plan on making regular releases every few months, as needed. Please file a ticket on the github issues page if you find a bug, or would like to make a feature request.

quick question; I see that it requires hive 0.90, which I’m not on. Would that be why the json_split UDF is returning a hive array of nulls; e.g. [null, null, null, null, null] ?

      Jonathan,
We require a newer version of Hive, because we have a dependency on ContantObjectInspector, so that we can access configuration parameters at UDF startup for certain UDF’s. I’m not sure what your issue is, but that could be a possibility.

Could you file an issue at the github issues page ( https://github.com/klout/brickhouse/issues?milestone=2&state=open ), if you have a specific bug or feature request ? Also, if you have a general question, or a question about how to use Brickhouse, could you post to stackoverflow.com, and label it with ‘hadoop’ and ‘hive’ ? That way we can explain in a more open forum.

Thank you so much for using Brickhouse, and we’ll make sure your issue is resolved.
